If you run far enough away, they’ll eventually start walking back to their starting position, and you may have enough time to run up behind them and stab the general in the back. The Abandoned Dungeon Entrance has also been sealed - meaning the only way to progress is from Lord Kuro’s room, as the Upper Tower has also been closed. However you decide to tackle this mission is up to you - but going head to head is certainly the hardest and near impossible option, so if you do, try to use your Shinobi Tools to their full effect and stun or distract enemies, or use the Mist Raven to warp behind your foe for a free hit. Without his armor on, you’ll be able to deal more damage and increase his posture damage faster - which is good because he’ll still deal major posture damage with each strike. Here, there’s a dying Nightjar Ninja on top of the watchtower that asks for your help, and you can also head up the path to re-commune with the Old Grave Sculptor’s Idol. Because of this, this mini-boss can deal incredible damage, even more so than usual considering his Iaido stance of unsheathing his blade for fast strikes, and takes longer to kill. There’s no real point in exiting through the window as there’s no more Lone Shadows to do battle with out here, but you can drop down from the Antechamber to the main hall. To reach the area you will have to use the kite to the right of the main stairs in Ashina Castle and follow the path through the Outskirts till the very end until you reach an Idol which will transport you to the boss area.
